The overall educational administration of the district is controlled and co- ordinated by the Deputy Director of Education in accordance with the guidelines of the Director of Public Instructions (DPI), Thiruvananthapuram. Four District Educational Offices viz, Kottayam, Kanjirappally, Kaduthuruthy and Pala along with thirteen assistant Educational Offices are functioning in this District.
